Crashing & Burning
PHAC Shadow Show
Crashing & Burning is a self-destructing kinetic sculpture, inspired by Jean Tinguely’s Fragment from Homage to New York 1960. It takes the form of sculpted clay heads representing the full span of a life, and associated found objects. They are hung on candle wicks anchored in lit tea lights, allowing each object over the course of the installation to fall to the ground and shatter.
